City of Wichita, Kansas to implement Advanced Utility Systems’ CIS Infinity
April 28, 2015

Wichita, KS and Toronto, ON

Advanced Utility Systems, a division of N. Harris Computer Corporation (Advanced), is pleased to announce that the City of Wichita (the City) has selected Advanced’s flagship customer information and billing system, CIS Infinity, along with Infinity.Link and Infinity.Mobile to enhance the City’s utility billing processes and expand its customer service offerings.

The City of Wichita is the largest City in the state of Kansas with a population of over 380,000 and is located in the south-central region. The City operates a multi-service utility providing water, sewer, storm and backflow services to its customers. The City is also a three-time All-America City award recipient. During the spring of 2014, the City released a request for proposal (RFP) for the replacement of its current CIS solution. Over the course of 15 years, this system required extensive customization which negatively affected its performance and security. The system also relied heavily on manual processes.

In response to the RFP, the City received nine responses. These responses were reviewed by five City departments that included IT, Finance, the City Manager’s Office, Law and Public Works. The Advanced product offering ranked ahead of its competitors when it came to functionality, technology and customer support capabilities. Advanced also ranked highest with respect to client recommendations and references. As a result, Advanced was selected by the

City as its vendor of choice for a new customer information and billing system. With the implementation of Advanced’s CIS Infinity, the City will achieve its main goals of improving overall customer service and efficiency. CIS Infinity will provide automated workflows to remove manual processes. Along with CIS Infinity, the City will implement the complementary solutions Infinity.Link for online customer self-service and Infinity.Mobile for automated service order functionality. Of note, CIS Infinity is 100% C#.NET, which will provide the City with significant functional and technological benefits.

“We are very much looking forward to working with the Wichita team,” mentions Peter Fanous, Executive Vice President for Advanced. “The City has shown great leadership throughout the procurement process which I know will extend into the implementation and will substantially contribute to a successful project. We are excited about beginning the implementation of CIS Infinity in a new state and are committed to maintaining a long-term working partnership with the City that ensures our solutions fully address its customer care and billing objectives now and in the future.”
