Pasco County Utilities (the County) has completed a successful implementation of CIS Infinity, the customer information and billing solution from Advanced Utility Systems, a division of N. Harris Computer Corporation (Advanced).
The County serves a customer base of approximately 100,000 and bills for water, wastewater, reclaimed water, backflow, street light, solid waste, fire hydrant and several other miscellaneous charges.
“Part of our vision is our commitment to utility business excellence,” notes Bruce Kennedy, Assistant County Administrator for Utilities Services Branch. “Some of the major ways CIS Infinity supports this commitment is by providing us with the agility to implement different rate structures and business rules accurately and easily for our multiple services; facilitating integration to key external systems eliminating duplication of effort and being able to take advantage of robust reporting tools for extensive report creation.”
Mr. Kennedy goes on to say, “The second part of our vision is to bring first class services to our customers and community.”
“CIS Infinity supports this goal by being user friendly and intuitive to use, thereby allowing our staff to find the information they need fast and increase first call resolution rates. We have also implemented several integrated solutions to CIS Infinity that allows us to provide more customer self-service options and enhances our customer communication capabilities.”
The County implemented the Advanced solutions Infinity.Link as well as Infinity.eXpress as part of its implementation of CIS Infinity. Infinity.Link allows the County’s customers to view their bills online, view account information, pay their bills, request service, enter meter readings, and more. Infinity.eXpress is the Advanced customer self-service station that uses touch screen technology which customers can use to perform such tasks as changing their billing address, requesting a service order and making a bill payment.
The County also implemented Infinity.Mobile. Infinity.Mobile is Advanced’s complete workforce automation application that reduces paperwork and increases accuracy of the service order process by leveraging mobile and wireless technologies.
Advanced provided the County with complete implementation services including conversion, training and support. These services were delivered by a team of knowledgeable professionals who follow a proven methodology.
Peter Fanous, Executive Vice President for Advanced, comments on the implementation methodology. "The County’s go live represents the ninth successful implementation for Advanced in the state of Florida. These nine implementations include utilities that range in size from 20,000 accounts to 100,000 accounts with various service offerings. We are proud to have developed an implementation process that can flex and adapt to meet the requirements of any deployment."
Pasco County was created in 1887 in Central Florida. Located on the Gulf of Mexico in the Tampa Bay area, Pasco is part of a nine-county region referred to as the "Nature Coast." Pasco County has a total of 742 square miles and approximately 470,000 residents.
