Murfreesboro, TN and Toronto, ON— Connexus Energy (Connexus) has completed its implementation of CIS Infinity, the customer information and billing solution from Advanced Utility Systems, a division of N. Harris Computer Corporation (Advanced).
Along with CIS Infinity, Connexus implemented the complementary Advanced solution Infinity.CreditCheck. Infinity.CreditCheck provides users with direct access to the ONLINE Utility Exchange, a credit risk evaluation solution. With a single-click, Connexus can access the system and perform soft credit checks and validate member identities in accordance with Federal Red Flag rules.
Connexus is among the 15 largest electric cooperatives in the United States, and the largest electric cooperative in Minnesota. They serve 125,000 members in the North Metro area of the Twin Cities - Minneapolis–Saint Paul.
CIS Infinity was selected by Connexus as part of its Information Technology strategic initiative. The objective of this initiative was for Connexus to replace its main software systems with solutions that offer greater cost and operational efficiencies through advanced functionality, flexibility and workflow and automation.
Some of the significant ways CIS Infinity’s commercial off-the-shelf functionality is helping Connexus to meet its objective include Advanced Search and Filtering options. This provides the end user with easy access to all the information they need without having to seek technical resources. As well, the ability to auto-generate Tasks, Letters, Emails and Service Orders using Filters and Actions will provide significant time savings. Another benefit is the ability to easily export data into a spreadsheet from any screen, allowing Connexus to share information with other systems and its members.
Raquel Berg, Marketing and Member Services Manager, comments, “Connexus exists solely to serve its members who are both the owner and customer. Therefore, we are continuously looking for ways to improve customer satisfaction. CIS Infinity is going to allow us to communicate with our members more quickly and efficiently than before and provide them with essential information and data to keep them well-informed about how the cooperative is performing.”
Jeff Hendrickson, Customer Operations Manager, adds, “Using the tools inherent in CIS Infinity to manage Connexus’ business processes is definitely a best practices approach. This approach will greatly assist in driving process improvements, reducing operating costs, and controlling quality.”
Peter Fanous, Executive Vice President for Advanced states, “Advanced develops and implements software solutions for utilities, cooperatives and municipalities exclusively. We are highly motivated to deliver problem-solving tools specific to our customer base. The ultimate achievement is to see organizations such as Connexus benefit from the alignment of our products’ functionality and their process requirements.”
