Advanced Utility Systems, a division of N. Harris ComputerCorporation ("Advanced”) is pleased to announce that the City of Port St.Lucie, Florida (the “City”), has selected Advanced’s CIS Infinity to replaceits legacy customer information and utility billing solution forwater, wastewater, reuse, water andwastewater loan billing.
The City of Port St. Lucie is primarily a residentialcommunity located in the southern part of St. Lucie County, Florida. The City encompasses approximately 116 squaremiles and is located on the southeastern coastline of the State of Florida, 100miles north of the City of Miami.Theestimated population as of April 1, 2011 was 166,000.The City owns and operates its own water andwastewater systems.
In 2012, the City identified the need to replace its legacyCustomer Information System (CIS) with a modern, state of the art, CIS applicationthat would enhance customer service.TheCity required a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) CIS solution that had beensuccessfully implemented in several other organizations similar in size, requirements, and function to that of the City. The City sought a solution that utilized product configuration ratherthan product modifications to fit the City’s business process workflow. The selected CIS would also need to be ableto accommodate the anticipated growth of customers.
The selection for a new CIS application began with a Requestfor Proposal. After detaileddemonstrations from qualified vendors and thorough reference checks, the Cityselected Advanced Utility Systems and CIS Infinity.
As Edwin Fry, Finance Director/City Treasurer stated, “We werelooking for a CIS product that could not only improve our customer servicethrough support for enhanced services and new and improved customer payment optionsbut also improved efficiency in our billing process.During our detailed evaluation process, wedetermined that CIS Infinity was the best solution to help us achieve our keyobjectives. The ease, of which users can navigate throughthe application, will provide our front line customer service representatives withthe information they need for timely resolution of customer queries.”
“The Advanced and City project teams are both very excited tokick off the implementation of CIS Infinity,” states Peter Fanous, ExecutiveVice President for Advanced.“The Cityof Port St. Lucie is a great addition to our growing Florida utility customerbase. We understand the uniquerequirements of our Florida customers and our experienced project team willleverage this knowledge to ensure the City achieves all its project objectives.”
